Full Job Description


PNTA is seeking to hire part-time truck drivers to support our growing team and operations. All shifts are paid at a minimum of 4 hours and can vary from full days to 1-2hr requirements. Shifts are available every day of the week, during and after business hours. Since 1975, PNTA has served our local theater, nonprofit, and corporate communities through retail services, production rentals, systems integration, and event production. Our goal is to provide our clients with excellent customer service, clear communication, creative concepts for their productions, and flawless execution on deliverables.

Applicants will be responsible for delivery and pickup of equipment and occasional small set-ups of lighting, audio, video, staging, special effects, etc. Applicants should have experience in the events industry and be interested in learning how our gear works and display reasonable skills in interacting with clients on site and at PNTA. You should be qualified to drive a delivery van and box trucks, preferably boxes up to 26’, in and around the Seattle area.

A safe driving record, continuous attention to safety at all work sites, and a positive and engaged work ethic supporting the company’s success is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining company safety standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines

  • Maintain excellent customer interactions when delivering on-site

  • Safely loading and unloading vehicles

  • Understanding and utilizing proper truck packing methods for the safety of personnel and equipment

  • Delivery and pick up of:

    • Rental gear from clients

    • Gear from onsite events

    • Purchased or rented gear from other vendors

    • Systems Integration install tools and equipment

  • Answering general equipment operating questions

  • Working on special projects, usually in or around the warehouse.

  • Displaying a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and kindness with clients and coworkers

Qualifications


Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to drive a variety of delivery vans up to a 26' box truck

  • Capacity to work flexible hours including evenings, afterhours, and weekends

  • A clean, safe driving record is mandatory

    • A driving record that is free of moving violations or incidents within the last 3 years.

    • *If you qualify, PNTA may pull a driving abstract with your permission.

    • **If you qualify, PNTA requires a mandatory drive evaluation before taking a driving shift. Drive evaluation is paid.

  • Capable of recurring standing, bending, lifting, pushing and walking with gear up to 75 lbs. over an eight-hour workday

  • Dependability and punctuality

  • Hard-working and self-disciplined

  • Able to work well independently as well as with others

  • Flexible, able to respond with calm efficiency to unexpected or challenging situations

Preferred

  • Knowledge of local event services vendors

  • Familiarity with local venues and the Greater Seattle area

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Interest in developing additional skillsets within event production and audiovisual work

  • Fundamental understanding of live event technology.

  • One (1) year of related event industry experience

  • One (1) or more years of driving experience with relevant vehicles (cargo van, box trucks 14'-26’)
